Caring for each other
Jesus tells us, really commands us, to care for each other when he said through out the gospels, "Love one anothe" Here at Shepherd of the Valley, we put that love into action and incorporated our mission statement of feeding, tending and sending in the name of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ into action. We provide various ways in which we care of each other, our community and our world.
We are so very blessed to be able to participate in the I-Help program (INTERFAITH HOMELESS EMERGENCY LODGING PROGRAM) that is run by Lutheran Social Services. This program provides a safe place for Individuals to spend the night, get a hot meal and breakfast as well as a sack lunch. If you are in need here is their website for more detailed information. We are partnering with the Safe Lot program that provides a safe place for Women and Children who are sleeping in their cars to stay. Safe Lot will provide a fenced guarded area on our property for these families. They will also have restroom, shower and laundry facilities. This will hopefully allow them to sleep more soundly knowing that they will not be molested while in the Safe Lot. To register for the Safe Lot program please LifeBridge at Pure Heart Church. Their info is below.
